Boudh has been recorded as the hottest place for two days. On Sunday, the highest temperature reached 43.6 degrees Celsius. A heatwave has swept across Odisha during this period. Jharsuguda was noted as the second hottest location at 42 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated no immediate relief from the ongoing heat.

Severe heatwave conditions have been declared by the IMD. These conditions occur when temperatures exceed 47 degrees Celsius. Additionally, a significant deviation from normal temperatures was noted. Seven locations reached temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius that day.

Other areas included Balangir at 41.7 degrees Celsius. Angul recorded 41.1 degrees while Titilagarh noted 40.5 degrees. Sundargarh was measured at 40.3 degrees Celsius, with Bhawanipatna at 40.2 degrees.

According to the regional meteorological office, severe heatwave conditions may be experienced on Monday. This is expected to affect Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Kalahandi districts. Heatwave conditions are likely to occur in several locations soon. Isolated areas in Sundargarh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, and Balangir are also included.

Warm nights are predicted to persist until Tuesday. Continued heatwaves may dominate parts of Odisha for the next three days. Meteorologist Manorama Mohanty stated warm northwesterly winds are flowing into the region.

By Wednesday, Odisha may see some respite from the intense conditions. Nor’wester rains are anticipated, providing relief from the ongoing heatwave. Thundershowers may also occur across the state from Wednesday through Saturday.
